Under the auspices of Dr. Alya Al-Attar, the Rector of Northern Technical University, and the supervision of Asst. Prof. Shhla Abdul-Wahab, the Dean of Mosul Technical Institute, the first international virtual forum – Artificial Intelligence: Future Opportunities and Challenges – concluded its activities on June 15-16, 2021.
Such Forums contribute to raising the institute’s rank in the international classifications.
The forum, which witnessed active participation and involvement from inside and outside Iraq, resulted in concluding recommendations from the organizing committee and participants:
1- developing strategic plans for smart buildings instead of university buildings of universities.
2- teaching staff members and students should be given training courses on artificial intelligence.
3- E-Learning and traditional learning should be integrated into university studies.
4- reconstruction of curriculum to realize the four fields: scientific, technical, and ethical.
5- updating curriculum to absorb modern technology.
6- modernizing the teaching methods to cope with modern technology; focusing on types can internalize this variant actively.
7- first-year university students should study artificial intelligence, one chapter in a curriculum at least, as we move toward smart homes and cities.
8- opening artificial intelligence academy in Nineveh Governorate, utilizing specialized professors.
9- holding periodical such forums is essential to familiarize with the state-of-the-art researches.
